Just in case you missed Back to School Morning, I have provided my Power Point presentation below. Let me know if you have any questions.
It's hard to believe that fall is already here. I wanted to thank you all for your patience and understanding. The good news is that I will be returning to work this Monday. Even though my daughter is still in the hospital, she is showing slow growth in her lung function. We have hopes that she will be released sometime this week!
There are some upcoming events that you should be aware of.
There will be no kindergarten on Wednesday, September 21st. I will be conferencing with parents all day. I will also be conferencing with parents on September 22nd, but only in the evening. Thursday, September 22nd will be a short day. There will be no school on Friday, September 23rd. To sign up for an appointment for parent/teacher conferences, please see the link below to access the Online Scheduler. The password is "rosecrest."
We have also scheduled a walking field trip to a local apple orchard on Thursday, September 29th. All kindergarten students will attend school that day from 8:15 to 11:15. There will be no afternoon kindergarten session that day. For those who would like to help out on the field trip, I will send out an online volunteer sign-up shortly.
If you have any questions, please let me know. I am excited to be back doing what I love!
Registration day at Rosecrest will be Thursday, July 28th from 1:00 to 6:00. For parents of kindergarten students, you will be able to schedule your child for a testing appointment that day. Kindergarten testing will begin on Wednesday, August 17th and will continue until August 23rd. Even though the other students begin school on the 17th, kindergarten will not begin until August 24th. The testing appointments will be 30 minutes each. I have posted a link to the Online Scheduler website below. The password is "rosecrest."
We will be having a picnic at Tanner Park for kindergarten students on Tuesday, August 23rd from 12:00 to 1:30. This is an opportunity for your child to meet kids from his/her class. Bring a lunch and maybe a picnic blanket. I hope to see you all there!
I look forward to meeting you all and look forward to a fantastic year!
It's hard to believe that we only have three months of school left! I wanted to make you aware of some important dates that will be coming up.
Spring Break-March 24th-29th
End of Year Kindergarten Assessments-May 9th-13th
It is important for you to know that there will be no kindergarten for the week of May 9th through 13th. In years past this was done the last week of school. I will let you know when you can sign up for a testing appointment.

All kindergarten students will attend school that day from 11:50-2:55.

It is hard to believe that we are already hitting the halfway mark in the school year! Thank you for all you do to help out in the classroom. You all make a huge difference.
In the past, I have just randomly given food assignments for the Friendship Feast. This year I thought I'd have you just choose what you would like to bring. Below I have provided links to the sign-ups for the feast. Thank you all so much for your help with this. It is always a highlight for the kids.
The feast will be held on Tuesday, November 24th.
Here is a schedule for this week:
Monday 10/26-Wear jeans and a red t-shirt for red ribbon week.
Tuesday 10/27-Crazy hair and crazy sock day for red ribbon week
Wednesday 10/28-Wear warm-up clothes or a jersey for red ribbon week
Thursday 10/29-Short day/Party day-Wear your Halloween costume
The Halloween parade begins at 8:30. If your child is in my afternoon class and would like to participate in the parade, please have him/her in the classroom by 8:20. You will need to pick up your afternoon student once the parade is finished.
Friday 10/30-No school, teacher work/training day
Homework will go home today and should be returned on Thursday.
All kindergarten students will attend school on Monday, October 5th from 11:55 to 2:55. Don't forget to have your child bring a sack lunch or snack on Monday, October 1st. We will have a picnic after we get back from the field trip.
I sent home homework folders today. Homework is due next Friday, October 9th. I figured it would be too tricky to send them Monday.
Volunteers, thank you for your quick responses!
So, this is who I have so far:
A.M.-Tammy Adams, Tara Plowigan, Sky Bennett, meeting us there-Heidi Decker and Kim Walker
P.M.- Karleen Nesbitt, Steph Strasser, Suzanne Hendrix, Aubrey Wallace, meeting us there-Jessica Sorensen and April Quinn
If you are meeting us there with younger children, I am pretty sure you will need to pay whatever entrance fee is required. I am not sure where to have you meet us, but my guess would be the main entrance.
You are awesome! Thanks for your help.
I have provided a link below for the Online Scheduler for SEP (parent/teacher conference) sign-ups. I will leave it open until Wednesday, September 23rd. If you have not signed up by that date, I will randomly assign you to a time slot. The evening appointments usually go fast, so if you work during the day, or have other commitments, I would sign up now. I look forward to meeting with all of you!
