Last year, I had the kids dye eggs and put together a small Basket with treats to take home. If any of you would like to send a bag of treats (the size that will fit into a plastic egg) along with some plastic eggs, that would be appreciated. Please send them no later than Thursday, March 28th. It should make it a fun end to the week. School will resume April 8th. Have a fantastic break!
We are wrapping up another quarter. Wow how time flies! Remember there will be no school this Friday, March 29th. This day will be a teacher work day for finishing up grades and preparing report cards. Thursday, March 28th will be a short day. Report cards will be coming home after spring break.

I wanted to give you all a "heads up" on our zoo field trip that is coming up next month. All of the kindergarten students will be going to Hogle Zoo on Tuesday, April 16th at 8:30 A.M. I wanted to notify you early so that you can make arrangements for your child if needed because there will be no afternoon kindergarten that day. The children will need to be picked up from school at 11:35 A.M.
I will let you know in a week or so how many volunteers I will need. It should be a great experience for the children. I wanted to inform you of our goal that we are working on for March. This month the goal will be for each student to read a short list of CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words (dog, rag, sun, etc.). To practice this skill, have your child continue to read the weekly book and key words list. This is great practice. For additional help, starfall.com has some wonderful, on-line books that can reinforce this skill. Also, our class has been watching the Alphablocks (found on youtube). Check the Youtube tab on this website for an example. The kids love these short videos! I think they are great. Keep up the great work. I have been blown away by how great these kids have been reading!
Also, I sent home the final survey for my Master's project. If you did not see this, I will be sending it home again tomorrow, so look for the bright yellow paper. Also, if I could get a couple more parents to attend a short meeting this Thursday after school, I would love the feedback about this website. Have a fantastic week! |
