We are now into our second quarter of the school year. Wow! Time sure flies when we are busy learning. I wanted to take a minute to thank all of you who have helped out in our classroom. The time you have donated is very much appreciated. I also wanted to take a minute to ask for even more. I have a hard time asking for help, and I think we all do. I also feel the greatest teachers have the greatest parent help and support. I need the most assistance with one-on-one tutoring and centers. The kids will get much more out of center time if I can have at least one or two parents helping to keep kids on task. For the month of November, the goal is to know all of the alphabet letters. Also, keep in mind that your child should know the letters without having to think about it for more than a second. The test mid-year is timed, so the faster he/she can name the letters, the better he/she will do. If your child passes off the monthly goal, he/she will get a certificate and a prize. I am running low on prizes in my treasure chest, so if any of you want to send some to school to add to the box I would be very grateful.
On November 26th we will have a kindergarten feast to celebrate Thanksgiving. I will be sending home a small food assignment next week for each child. I will also get an on-line sign-up put together if any of you want to come to help out that day.
