Road to Success

On Tuesday, papers were sent home for the Road to Success reading program.  This is an incentive program sponsored by local businesses to motivate kids to read.  If your child reads, or is read to five times a week he/she earns one ticket.  If he/she reads or is read to seven times a week, two tickets are earned.  These tickets are placed into a drawing for some really great prizes.  One of my students last year won a lava lamp.  Other great prizes include bikes and scooters.

To make things easier on teachers, you can keep track of reading days on-line.  The website is rtsutah.com.  Your child's username was sent in the homework folder.  It is your child's first and last name all together in lowercase letters.  The pin is 0104 for all students.  If you want to keep track "low tech" style, below is a PDF that you can print out to track reading.  You can send them to school with your child and I will enter it into the computer.  I will be checking the website and giving tickets to those who have earn them.

I have also attached the Hold Harmless Agreement below.  Try to return this in the homework folder by Friday.

Thank you for your support with this program and happy reading!

Hey Mrs. Mills! When you click on parent, register my child, you have to enter a school/class code. It starts with RTS-. When they gave us this code for our 5th grade class they gave us teachers just one paper although every student needs that code to set up their online account. Did you get that code that you could pass on? Without it we can't register. Thanks!

Thanks Courtney! I will see if I can get the code. I am still figuring this out and will be sure to get you what you need. Thanks for your patience.

I am also interested in tracking the RTS program online, and need the code. Thanks for all of the work you are doing to keep these kids going!
